I’ve got an issue with my 2006 ELANTRA. The car is in excellent condition. We’ve owned it about a year. My son got stopped for a tail light being out. We tried swapping bulbs. We tried the fuses. They were good but we swapped them anyway. Initially, it was the left tail light. After reading some on the forums, there seems to have been an issue with the tail light wiring harness so I got on eBay and I purchased a tail light. Now the left tail light works, but the right one has stopped, and before I throw more parts at it, I wanted to get any ideas anyone has. Turn signals stop lights all work perfectly. It just seems to be the tail light itself as it was on the left side. When the left side didn’t work, the license plate lights also did not work. Now they work along with the left side tail light but the right has stopped working. I know I can run a new wire, but I’d rather fix it correctly. Also, I’m wondering if I had to could I just run a wire from the left tail light power wire to the right tail light power wire or would that draw too much amperage and pop the fuse? Please let me know what y’all think.
